The workshop we went to offered us 5 points on our journey to our desired outcome. The first point from yesterday was to go to your imagination. Point #2 is to assume the feelings of the wish fulfilled. The science of the the brain-stomach-heart connection is proven. It has to do with the “feel good” chemicals manufactured in the brain and how they produce reactions in those other organs. I’m not a medical professional but I know when something sounds logical and this really made sense to me. For example, Dr. Stofman shared with us that if you ever have a “gut feeling” about something…..you probably do! Isn’t that cool? He also taught us that day that studies show that a 10 minute walk every day produces the same results as the seratonin enhancing pharmaceuticals….without any side effects! Whoa!
Part of my own personal journey is carving out the time to walk every day. I’m so juiced to go to the next level. I kind of make excuses because of the cold weather, but I recently had a wake-up call. I had some kind of a muscle spasm…pull…something that fairly crippled me. Icing it and chiropractic adjustments have put me on the road back to where I need to be. I’m not going through this again. Check back with me to see how my walking program shapes up.
